Overview
We are seeking a Director of Content and Writing to join our team. In this position, you’ll oversee the strategic direction and management of your accounts while coaching and supporting more junior employees. You’ll be well‑versed in integrated marketing and communications opportunities that help meet our clients’ evolving needs and will also contribute to new business, agency marketing, employee development and coaching, trainings, and other initiatives.
Responsibilities
Develop high‑quality content with a strong emphasis on healthcare, medical, and clinical writing, supporting client communication strategies.
Serve as a content development specialist while also flexing into broader account director duties such as client relationship management, strategy development, and team coordination.
Contribute to new business opportunities by leveraging expertise in health and medical content to attract and support prospective clients.
Qualifications
Proven experience commensurate with an Account Director level (typically 7+ years in communications, PR, or related fields).
Strong background in content development with a specialization in healthcare, medical, and clinical writing.
Ability to flex between specialized content creation and traditional account management responsibilities.
Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills, with a track record of producing compelling, accurate content for health‑related audiences.
Familiarity with retainer‑based client models and the ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications in healthcare communications are a plus.

Compensation
In compliance with equal pay and salary transparency laws, the target base compensation range for this role in the United States is $100K–$150K. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location. Additional benefits include unlimited PTO, 401(k) program, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, and additional perks such as a month‑long sabbatical, wellness days, summer Fridays, and learning and development programs.
