Position: Enrollment and Retention Counselor
Employment Status: Full Time (12 months)

The Enrollment and Retention Counselor is an experienced student support professional responsible for helping students move from inquiry to program completion. This position informs best practices in student recruitment and program progression, and works successfully in cross‑functional settings. In addition to providing enrollment management leadership throughout the student’s educational life cycle from the first point of contact and throughout their continued engagement, this role requires a highly collaborative and goal‑oriented enrollment and support services professional. Engaging with enrollment and student support staff, the position utilizes a cross‑functional approach.
Responsibilities
Work collaboratively across the College of Professional Studies to implement a strategic recruitment and retention plan.
Complete recruitment activities to ensure that enrollment targets are met each term.
Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the CRM database.
Analyze and document recruitment and retention trends and serve as an “expert” regarding best practices, associated policies, procedures, and evaluation of the portfolio.
Identify trends, programmatic changes, and marketing opportunities within the portfolio:
Assess programmatic changes and marketing opportunities.
Evaluate potential obstacles in application processes for prospective students.
Create solutions to these obstacles and plan to assess effectiveness.
Assist with training and mentoring new team members to program portfolios.
Provide excellent customer service to students throughout the recruitment and retention process.
Manage admission and registration process.
Provide enrollment and retention support across time zones and at times that are more convenient for non‑traditional students.
Promote a positive environment that supports innovation, teamwork, and successful outcomes.
Provide quality and professional written and verbal communication.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required, plus 3–5 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides comparable knowledge and skills.
Experience in higher education, admissions, customer service, and/or student support is preferred.
Demonstrated experience managing applications, registration, and enrollment processes.
Familiarity with admissions, registration systems, and CRM software preferred.
Strong analytical, interpersonal, technological, and communication skills.
Proven ability to organize work effectively and perform in a fast‑paced environment.
