Management Analyst I – Medical Staff Department – Full-time Permanent Under the direction of the Director of Physician Services, supports Physician Services in the Medical Staff Department. Responsible for contract management and physician business activities including staffing, timekeeping and compensation (payroll/invoices).

Significant Duties

Analyzes physician invoices; verifies invoices against contract terms; reconciles physician expenses; monitors physician services budget; works closely with Finance and other County Departments to ensure accurate and timely payments to physicians; gathers and interprets data for Finance audits

Prepares physician contracts in compliance with federal law, writes board reports for presentation and approval by hospital Finance Committee, Board of Trustees and County Board of Supervisors; maintains master list of physician contracts; tracks renewals and amendments; coordinates training of the materials to the physicians

Manages physician timekeeping; analyzes data for physician time study; assists with call schedule and scheduling needs; physician payroll

Implements and evaluates policies, procedures and programs related to the assignment.

Works closely with managers and other staff within the department and the County to anticipate, obtain and provide ongoing and accurate information.

Coordinates activities related to projects, programs and/or other areas being analyzed.

Interprets policies and procedures to department staff, County employees and external agencies and individuals.

Researches, interprets and complies with local, state and federal codes, regulations, laws, policies, procedures and guidelines.

Attends or serves as management liaison at meetings/functions such as committees, task forces, community forums, commissions, and conferences.

Obtains data/information from internal and external departments and agencies in regard to areas being analyzed such as funding sources, interdepartmental activities, and programs.

Plans, develops, conducts and evaluates training/informational programs for staff and/or the public on administrative or management issues.

Provides direction to internal and external parties on assigned projects and activities.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

The Ideal Candidate

Manage multiple contracts including contract negotiations, compliance and facilitation of the County approval process

Interpret and apply codes, regulations, laws, procedures, policies and guidelines

General accounting including modifying and monitoring spending and budgeting

General research; investigative and analytic skills

Proficient use of computers, including email, web search engines and Microsoft Office (will be expected to develop and maintain comprehensive

Excel

spreadsheets)

Build and maintain professional relationships with all levels of management (physicians) and staff as well as external contact

Examples of Experience/Education/Training

Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, social services, political science, education, or a related field.

Conditions of Employment

Natividad requires that all incumbents pass a pre-employment physical/medical assessment.

Employees who drive on County business to carry out job related duties must possess a valid Driver License for the class vehicle driven or have the ability to provide suitable transportation that is approved by the appointing authority.

Employees must have and show their original Social Security Card and a valid Driver License or State ID prior to the first day of work (Social Security Card is required for payroll purposes only).

Incumbents may be required to work all shifts, including irregular hours, nights, weekends and holidays.

Incumbents may be required to work with potentially hazardous and infectious substances.
