Job Overview
Blue Origin is developing reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems. The New Glenn Mission Management Lead supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a heavy‑lift launch vehicle capable of carrying people and payloads to low‑Earth orbit and beyond.
Responsibilities
Lead both internal and external technical projects from proposal through completion
Work closely with launch operations and launch systems groups to ensure successful integration of payload requirements
Act as primary point of contact for mission integration and launch contracts
Integrate customer requirements and develop the mission Interface Control Document
Provide program leadership to ensure payload system requirement validation and implementation with technical teams
Interface with external customers during the mission integration phase and ensure excellent customer experience
Manage regulatory requirements such as FAA, ITAR, and range communications
Support business development interactions with external customers that lead to mission integration and launch contracts
Lead spacecraft integration and launch contracts, ensuring Blue Origin commitments are met on time, on budget, and with success
Integrate customer requirements into New Glenn development and launch services
Lead all payload-to-launch vehicle integration meetings and mission readiness reviews
Participate in proposal and contract development
Develop resource-loaded mission Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and coordinate progress with customers
Minimum Qualifications
B.S. in Engineering or related field
10+ years managing complex, multi‑disciplinary, fast‑paced aerospace projects
5+ years of industry experience in launch system or satellite operations
Proven experience leading cross‑functional teams and driving continuous‑improvement initiatives
Ability to travel within the U.S. and abroad
Preferred Qualifications
Exceptional leadership, organizational, team‑building, and people‑management skills
Strategic thinker with a detail‑oriented approach
Ability to influence and lead change within the organization
Experience in the development of launch vehicles
Experience working with government customers
Compensation California applicants: $169,624.00 – $237,473.25. Colorado applicants: $160,618.00 – $224,864.85. Washington applicants: $169,624.00 – $237,473.25. Other site ranges may differ.
