Overview Partnership Taxation Manager (Asset Management)

– Lead complex tax return reviews and provide consulting services for partnership clients. Collaborate with the Partnership Tax team to recommend accurate return preparation and tax‑saving strategies, focusing on quality and client service.

Responsibilities

Evaluate the tax aspects of partnership agreements and manage the client’s Internal Revenue Code (IRC) §704(b) accounts.

Manage multiple client‑services teams on engagements; plan, execute, direct, and complete tax projects across industries; provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise.

Develop, train, and mentor staff on tax projects; assess performance for engagement and year‑end reviews.

Research and consult on various tax matters, primarily Subchapter K partnership taxation; utilize tax‑related software to prepare and process returns.

Respond to inquiries from the IRS and other tax authorities.

Maintain active communication with clients to manage expectations, meet deadlines, and enhance relationships.

Support business‑development activities, including identification, proposal development, and pursuit activities at clients.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

CPA required.

Minimum six to ten years of progressive tax compliance and/or tax consulting experience in public accounting or a combination of industry and public accounting.

Experience with partnership structuring, entity formation, and mergers & acquisitions preferred.

Excellent analytical, technical, and tax accounting/technology skills with proficiency in US GAAP, partnership returns, joint‑venture and non‑corporate entity tax returns, and understanding of Subchapter K partnership taxation.

Exceptional client‑service and communication skills; ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships.

Strong leadership, business‑development, recruiting, training, coaching, and mentoring skills, plus excellent written, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities in a rapidly growing, fast‑paced, results‑based team environment.

Can travel as needed.

Salary Los Angeles, CA: $149,040 – $162,000 Newport Beach, CA: $149,040 – $162,000 San Francisco, CA: $158,700 – $172,500
