Over the last 50 years, the company has grown from a single store to a global fashion business with seven brands. Their clothes are available in 90 countries worldwide through over 3,100 company‑operated stores, almost 400 franchise stores, and e‑commerce sites and is still growing.
We are seeking a
Technical Designer
on a
contract basis
to support their business needs. This role is on‑site in San Francisco, CA.
Responsibilities
Execute the end-to-end technical design process from development through final fit approval
Analyze and evaluate garments to establish accurate fit specifications
Develop and maintain detailed technical specifications for assigned products
Ensure product development aligns with fit standards, quality expectations, manufacturer capabilities, and cost targets
Communicate fit intent, specifications, and feedback clearly to vendors and factories for approvals and corrections
Review prototypes and samples, providing adjustments to maintain design integrity and quality
Partner with factories to resolve fit and construction issues while meeting production timelines and cost requirements
Monitor product quality and ensure consistency across all stages of development
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support product execution and delivery
May provide guidance or oversight to Assistant Technical Designers
Skills And Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Fashion, Technical Design, or related field, or equivalent experience
Strong knowledge of garment construction, fit, and technical design processes
Ability to analyze garments and translate design intent into precise technical specifications
Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and consistency
Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with vendors, factories, and internal teams
Ability to manage multiple styles and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to make fit and construction decisions
