Salary range: $39.12 - $58.68 USD hourly. $10,000 sign‑on bonus or educational sponsorship available. Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates. The Cardiac Sonographer produces images of the heart muscle and function using ultrasound equipment, operating and adjusting equipment, recording cardiac data and measurements, and protecting and helping patients. This position assists with transesophageal echocardiograms, dobutamine stress tests, and other procedures as needed. The technologist identifies pertinent clinical information and communicates it to the physician. Essential Job Functions
Identify cardiac anatomy according to patient age, cardiac anomalies, heart disease, and pertinent clinical information and communicate this to the cardiologist. Assist the cardiologist with patient exams and identify any changes in clinical circumstances that may alter exam protocol and performance. Perform computer analysis and demonstrate competency in quantitative calculations of echo data. Review echocardiograms for quality and completeness according to cardiologist preference. Collect and review all required clinical information prior to performing exams; communicate information to physicians and co‑workers. Assure that a written physician order is received prior to exam performance; review charts to ensure appropriate exams are performed. Provide patient education appropriate to procedure and scope of responsibility. Perform other duties as assigned or needed to meet department/organization needs. Certifications
Sonographer – North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Board of Examiners (prior to start date). Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) – American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (within 18 months of start date). Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) – Cardiovascular Credentialing International (within 18 months of start date). BLS – American Heart Association (within 90 days of start date). Education
Required: Associate’s degree – Cardiac Sonographer or Associate’s degree – Related Field. Work Experience
Preferred: Minimum of 1 year related experience. Language Requirements
