Salary Range: $90-100k Depending on Experience.

Kubota Engine America is seeking a dedicated Technical Training Service Specialist to join our Training team in Lincolnshire. This full-time, regular position plays a critical role in providing technical support and expertise for Kubota's engine products across various applications. The Technical Training Service Specialist serves as a key liaison between our customers, dealers, and internal engineering teams to ensure optimal engine performance and customer satisfaction.

As a Technical Training Service Specialist, you will be responsible for customer training on diagnosing complex engine issues, providing technical guidance to customers and dealers, and developing training solutions to enhance product performance. You will leverage your deep understanding of diesel and gasoline engines, emissions systems, and electronic control systems to troubleshoot problems efficiently and effectively. This role requires a combination of technical knowledge, analytical thinking, and excellent communication skills.

You will conduct thorough investigations of engine failures and performance issues, prepare detailed technical reports, and collaborate with engineering teams to implement design improvements. Additionally, you will develop and deliver technical training programs for dealers and customers, ensuring they have the knowledge and skills needed to maintain and service Kubota engines properly.

The position involves travel up to 25% of the time to customer sites, dealer locations, and field service calls across North America. During these trips, you will receive per diem compensation to cover expenses. You will also participate in industry events and trade shows to represent Kubota Engine America and showcase our technical capabilities.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engine technology training, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a customer-focused mindset. You should be comfortable working independently while also collaborating effectively with cross‑functional teams. Job Description Summary The Technical Service Specialist (TSS) is responsible for the preparation and execution of training KEA customers in Canada, North America and Latin America. Also, responsible for the marketing of the training programs through web-site development, advertising and direct contact with customers. The TSS is considered a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Kubota Brand products and industry best practices for service procedures.

Duties And Responsibilities

Design distributor Master Trainer program and audit performance according to certification requirements.

Responsible for the preparation and presentation of technical training programs for customers and employees - including instructor led, e-learning, online and other multimedia delivery systems.

Fault engines for diagnosis training and communicate repair process to trainees.

Creates and edits content i.e. presentation materials, workbooks, e-learning, training calendar and other related documentation.

Implement operational structures for the Learning Management System (LMS).

Create student and system performance reports to identify and implement specific actions to improve student performance/participation rates.

Use KPI and LMS metrics to measure and improve Distributor and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) training compliance and service level.

Ensure in a broad sense the overarching technical elements of WBT, ILT and VILT training programs are consistent.

Arrange and conduct training of distributors and original equipment manager’s (OEM) either in house and/or at customer location.

Track and document training session metrics e.g. attendees, covered syllabus, attendance, survey and expenses.

Collaborate with Learning Systems Coordinator (LSC), Technical Service Trainer (TST) and internal cross‑functional departments to gather and define technical data and content related to emerging issues and industry trends in an effort to unify training vision and activities.

Assist LSC with creating and uploading eLearning content.

Use application of adult learning theory, instructional design and learner assessment as recommended by LSC & TSS to drive continuous improvements of training content and program function and effectiveness.

Conduct ILT and VILT training at LTC and Customer locations as the need arises.

Conduct training of employees for technical training.

On request, prepare research and quotes for purchase of items needed for training department or training events within the scope of department budget.

Secures the safety of each training class and coordinates with Safety officer to address and correct all issues.

Maintain and correct ILT assets post/pre training and verify correct operation of hands on stations.

Thorough knowledge of the engineering and mechanics involved in the installation and operation of diesel and gasoline engines

Ability to test engines using test equipment and diagnose engine and component failure in a variety of circumstances with incomplete information

Able to use a variety of tools and test equipment

Education and Training

Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred or equivalent vocational training and experience

5 - 7 industry experience in a training or service function related to gasoline and/or diesel engine diagnostics and repair.

Handling of potentially dangerous chemicals or other substances, dangerous equipment, and tools

Required Experience

5-7 years of experience in technical service or engineering role in the engine industry

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or related technical field

Demonstrated experience in diagnosing complex engine issues

Experience providing technical support to customers and dealers

Background in developing or delivering technical training programs

Experience with field service and on-site troubleshooting

Familiarity with industrial, agricultural, or construction equipment applications

Experience with Kubota engines or similar diesel/gasoline engines preferred

Background in warranty claim investigation and resolution

Experience with emissions certification and compliance

History of successful collaboration with engineering teams on product improvements

Experience using computerized maintenance management systems

Background in technical documentation development

Experience representing a company at industry events or trade shows

Proven track record of customer satisfaction in a technical support role
