Position: Service Writer Reporting directly to the Service Manager, the service writer is a liaison between the customer and service technician.
Key Responsibilities
Daily interaction with customers
Open work orders and document description of symptoms in sufficient detail to provide technician with information necessary to efficiently perform service work
Verify warranty contract coverage and explaining provisions and exclusions as necessary
Updating the customer on the status of their work order
Work directly with Service Manager to schedule and assign work orders as necessary
Facilitate parts ordering & delivery to keep technicians on the wrench
Researching and recommending correct parts/equipment for a given job
Assisting customer with purchase of small equipment
Performs other related duties as assigned
Skills for success
High school diploma or GED (preferred)
Excellent communication and time management skills
Job Requirements
Able to work 40+ hrs per week
Have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record
Physical Requirements The position requires sitting, standing, walking, use of fingers and hands, stooping, bending, reaching, and lifting.
