As a Community Engagement Coordinator, you will play a vital role in our mission to enhance the quality of life for individuals, families, and seniors in affordable housing communities. PRS delivers essential social support to residents through initiatives that promote culture, life skills, and family improvement.

The Community Engagement Coordinator offers CORES certified resident services, implementing programs that foster knowledge, marketable skills, and healthy living to uplift families.

You should be a compassionate advocate for social and economic change, actively seeking a part‑time, flexible position in social services, education, or nonprofit sectors.

General Function: Serve as a liaison between PRS and the affordable housing community, fostering a visible, professional, and cooperative relationship among residents, property management, and community resources. Develop and execute a monthly calendar of developmental activities and essential resources tailored to address the social, educational, and economic requirements of residents. Exhibit leadership in managing donations, engaging residents, and coordinating volunteer initiatives.

Essential Functions:

Provide a welcoming and inviting atmosphere for all residents, acting as the initial point of contact at the community center.

Prepare reports based on the distributed calendar, sign‑in sheets, and the total number of program hours and activities conducted monthly.

Design, create, and distribute monthly calendars and update flyers weekly to promote activities and programs on‑site, including door‑to‑door distribution across the property.

Oversee program offerings and activities, recruit volunteers, gather donations, and collaborate with community partners.

Log communications with volunteers and community partners, submitting monthly records.

Offer information about local resources or assistance available in the community to residents.

Encourage resident support and participation in program planning and activities, assessing additional service needs and communicating with personnel for proactive solutions.

Independently monitor and interact with children, adults, and seniors.

Maintain sign‑in sheets for all activities and program offerings, regardless of attendance.

Responsible use of tax‑exempt certificate and number; manage monthly petty cash while replenishing consumable goods, supplies, and office materials.

Supervise the community center’s usage while ensuring a clean and organized environment.

Keep PRS binders, documents, and forms organized and ready for presentation upon request.

Perform other duties as assigned by direct management or PRS corporate staff.

Experience and Qualifications Desired:

Availability to work 5 days a week from 12 pm to 5 pm (Monday – Friday).

Occasional evening and weekend availability may be required, typically 1‑2 times per quarter.

Relevant experience in education, social work, nonprofit organizations, or related fields; volunteer experience considered.

Experience working with children, teens, adults, or seniors in various settings.

Able to work independently and multitask effectively.

Excellent organizational, computer, and administrative skills.

Strong written and oral communication abilities.

Familiarity with community and social service resources.

Possession of a home computer, email access, and ability to perform light printing.
