Intake Specialist
Location: 12837 Flushing Meadows Dr., Suite 220, Town & Country, MO 63131
UMSL's Center for Behavioral Health (CBH) is dedicated to improving the mental health and well‑being of children, adolescents, and families in our community by providing no‑cost psychological evaluations for children and adolescents across the St. Louis region. We are seeking a client‑focused, detail‑oriented Intake Specialist to serve as one of the first points of contact for individuals seeking care. This role is critical in creating a positive, supportive experience for clients and ensuring they are connected with the right clinician to meet their needs.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct telephone and in‑person intakes with prospective clients, gathering essential information to match them with appropriate clinicians.
Schedule appointments across multiple locations, including CBH offices and community sites as needed.
Provide administrative support to clinical staff and assist with special projects as needed.
Monitor and respond to inquiries via phone, email, and in‑person visits with professionalism and discretion.
Maintain accurate electronic and paper records, ensuring compliance with confidentiality standards.
Support front desk operations to create a welcoming environment for clients and visitors.
Participate in staff meetings and contribute to a positive, team‑oriented culture.
Complete tasks efficiently and accurately, with strong attention to detail.
Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired is necessary. Eligibility for certification as required by regulatory agencies is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with various populations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort with electronic record systems.
Highly organized, adaptable, and able to follow established processes consistently.
Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Previous experience in a behavioral health or healthcare setting.
Shift 20 hours/week, flexible; evening and Saturday availability preferred.
Salary Anticipated salary: $16.75 per hour. Grade: GGS-005. University Title: Clinical Technician I.
