Position Summary
The Territory Sales Manager will oversee sales, marketing, and account management for all accounts within a multi‑state territory, focusing on Northern and Central Florida. This salaried position offers a full suite of insurance benefits, 401(k), vacation, holidays, a relocation package (if appropriate), and a competitive commission structure.
Responsibilities Develop strong communication networks and build relationships with distributors, engineers, and municipalities.
Focus sales efforts by studying distributor volume and market demand.
Execute the company’s pricing strategy to ensure margins and returns.
Submit weekly reports to management highlighting market conditions.
Use the assigned software program to document customer interactions and opportunity management.
Troubleshoot product issues in the field and by phone.
Act as liaison between end users, customers, and the company on all matters.
Inform and train distributor salespeople on latest product and marketing information.
Participate in trade associations, seminars, trade shows, and presentations.
Communicate regularly with the National Sales Manager to monitor needs, concerns, and resource allocation.
Prepare price quotations or bids based on material knowledge and current market conditions.
Monitor competition, gathering pricing, product, delivery, and marketing information.
Practice and promote The McWane Way principles.
Perform other sales and service duties as directed.
Travel & Residence Requirements Approximately 75% travel; 25% home office work.
Must live in assigned territory or be willing to relocate.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Five years of industrial sales experience required, preferably in the waterworks industry or completion of the McWane Sales Trainee program.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Self‑motivated, self‑led, and able to negotiate and close deals while maintaining excellent customer service.
Valid driver’s license with a clean DMV record.
Physically and visually able to break down moderate to complex mechanical products and relate details to customers.
Strong written and verbal communication, including reports, business correspondence, and presentations.
Mathematical aptitude for calculating discounts, commissions, and other figures.
Problem‑solving skills, dealing with variable situations and interpreting instructions.
Knowledge of internet, inventory, manufacturing, order‑processing, spreadsheet, and word‑processing software.
