Job Overview
The Senior Director of Contracts leads a geographically dispersed contracts team. This position will manage contract operations for both the Technical Services and Education business areas.
Position Location This is a hybrid position based in Reston, Virginia and will require domestic and international travel.
Responsibilities
Serve as the senior contractual advisor to business line leaders, developing and implementing contract strategies that align with company growth objectives.
Lead complex negotiations for prime contracts, subcontracts, teaming agreements, ensuring compliance with FAR/DFAR, CAS, agency specific regulations, and federal, state, and local laws.
Participate in proposal activities, including the stage‑gate process, color team reviews, and cost/price development, providing recommendations that protect company interests.
Identify and mitigate contractual risks and develop risk management strategies to ensure adherence to company policy, as well as pertinent laws and regulations.
Engage with senior acquisition official, contracting officers and industry leaders.
Lead and develop a high‑performing contracts team, providing coaching, training and development opportunities as well as conducting personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and terminations.

Job Requirements Mandatory
Bachelor’s degree in business administration - equivalent professional experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
Minimum of 15 years of direct experience in contracts, with a minimum 5 years managing a contracts team.
Significant experience negotiating business agreements and interpreting complex contracts, including change management, for U.S. Government Agencies.
Knowledge and understanding of contract principles, theories, concepts, and regulations, and experience demonstrating a broad application of those practices, techniques, and standards.
Must have deep knowledge and extensive experience working with FAR, DFARS, and other government regulations.
Able to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Secret Clearance.
Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally as needed to support program and capture needs.
Preferred
Experience in Engineering Services, Tech Services, Training and Workforce Development contracting for the Department of Defense.
Knowledge of Small Business and 8(a) practices and policies.
Proficient working within a Contract Lifecycle Management tool.
Active U.S. DoD Secret Clearance.
