Oncology Sales Consultant – Portfolio – Central, NJ Territory
The Oncology Sales Consultant – Portfolio is responsible for driving clinical demand, education, and sales of Bayer Oncology Portfolio (currently NUBEQA, STIVARGA, VITRAKVI, XOFIGO) within the Central, NJ metro area, including Edison, Clifton, Livingston, Linden, Plainfield, New Brunswick, East Brunswick, Old Bridge and Long Branch. The role involves supporting healthcare professionals in community clinics, treatment centers and hospitals/IDNs, traveling up to 50% within the territory, and being domiciled within the territory (preferably Edison, NJ).
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Build deep clinical knowledge and drive education on assigned products.
Build relationships with key offices and providers, seeking feedback to ensure their needs are met.
Be customer‑centric by understanding goals and tailoring solutions.
Understand and navigate the healthcare environment by leveraging industry groups and organizations.
Analyze data to develop a territory growth strategy and 90‑day plans.
Be outcome‑oriented in execution to achieve sales targets.
Collaborate cross‑functionally to co‑create solutions.
Embrace technology to enhance performance and continuously improve proficiency.
Commit to ongoing learning, feedback, and insight‑driven improvement.
Act ethically and compliantly with pharmaceutical industry guidelines and regulations.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or 10 years of relevant experience.
Proven selling skills with ability to influence prescribers.
Track record of consistent sales success.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong teamwork and cross‑functional collaboration abilities.
Negotiation and analytical skills.
Self‑motivated and passionate.
Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
Willingness to travel, including occasional overnight trips.
Subject to credentialing requirements as part of employment.
Experience launching new products/indications.
Compliance with customer credentialing and safety standards (e.g., vaccinations, training).
Understanding of PHARMAC compliance guidelines.
Authenticity in the workplace.
Preferred Qualifications
Degree in biological science or related field.
Minimum 5 years in pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical sales, or relevant clinical/marketing experience.
Experience selling to academic institutions or large oncology accounts.
Specialty sales experience in competitive landscapes.
Strong clinical knowledge of various tumor types.
Experience in pediatric and adult oncology settings.
Background in Oncology or Precision Medicine.
Experience selling products with companion diagnostics.
Familiarity with diagnostics or genomic testing.
Understanding of buy‑and‑bill and oral oncology landscapes.
Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $146,426.00 and $219,638.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is an estimate and may vary based on location, market data, and applicant’s skills.
