About the Role As a Representative, you will support and service

457 Retirement accounts , assisting with inquiries, rollovers, distributions, loan processing, and educating participants on products, services, and online tools.

Work Location

Remote and hybrid potential. Within 35 miles of our offices: Hybrid schedule with 2 days/week onsite required.

Ohio: Three Nationwide Plaza, Columbus, OH 43215

Arizona: 18700 North Hayden Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85255

Candidates outside the 35‑mile radius may be eligible for fully remote work.

Training & Schedule Training: 7‑week program, Mon–Fri, 9 AM – 5:30 PM ET. Post‑Training: Shifts may fall between 8 AM – 11 PM ET, Mon–Fri, with possible Saturday shifts (9 AM – 6 PM ET).

Licensing Requirements This position requires the SIE, Series 6, and Series 63 licenses. You do

not

need to have these licenses to apply or begin your career at Nationwide. The company provides full support to earn them, including paid study time, study materials, classroom support, and all exam fees covered.

Licensing Timeline

SIE must be completed within 120 days of employment.

Series 6 & 63 must be completed within 180 days.

Minimum salary $47,151 ($23.40/hr).

Job Description Summary We seek individuals who love connecting and building new business relationships. As a Representative, you’ll provide extraordinary care to our members, partners, plan sponsors, and investment professionals. You will analyze general account and plan fee inquiries, interpret and apply regulatory requirements, and communicate Nationwide’s marketing strategies to customers.

Key Responsibilities

Receives and responds to incoming calls from investment professionals, plan sponsors, and members on a variety of topics.

Interprets and applies all changes and enhancements to both new and existing products based on daily communications.

Identifies the underlying question to proactively offer consultative expertise and uncover unstated needs.

Maintains a record of conversations and documents interactions to deepen customer relationships.

Follows all rules, regulations, and licensing requirements, ensuring compliance with FINRA and industry standards.

Educates customers on tax implications, penalties/surrender charges, death benefit protection, and other plan benefits.

Analyzes problems to determine proper action, striving for first‑time resolution, and escalates to internal partners when necessary.

Participates in lean methodology sessions, problem‑solving meetings, and team huddles.

Shares monthly career discussions with leadership to set goals and advancement plans.

Reporting Relationship Reports to Supervisor/Manager and does not have direct reports.

Typical Skills And Experiences

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required; undergraduate degree in finance, business administration, insurance, economics, or communications preferred.

Licenses / Designations:

ChFC, CLU, or other industry designations desirable; federal and state licenses may be required for specific products.

Experience:

One year in customer service or sales‑related occupations.

Knowledge & Skills:

Understanding of insurance products, sales processes, state and local laws, FINRA regulations, and the ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.

Computer proficiency and use of technology to enhance customer conversations.

Ongoing Competencies Leadership skills, competencies, and additional experiences may be considered for advancement.

Job Conditions • Overtime eligibility: Eligible (Non‑Exempt) • Working environment: Call center; extended periods of time sitting in front of a computer and taking phone calls.
