Overview
Brooklyn Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare is seeking an experienced and dependable
Assistant Director of Maintenance
to help oversee maintenance operations at our Skilled Nursing Facility in Brooklyn, NY. This role supports the Director of Maintenance in ensuring a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
Duties
Assist in supervising maintenance staff and daily department operations
Help plan and coordinate preventative maintenance and repair schedules
Conduct regular inspections of the facility, equipment, and building systems
Ensure timely completion of work orders and maintenance requests
Assist in overseeing outside contractors and service vendors
Maintain records of repairs, inspections, warranties, and preventative maintenance
Support monitoring of departmental supplies, tools, and equipment organization
Ensure all maintenance work complies with state, federal, and OSHA regulations
Participate in emergency response and share on-call responsibilities as needed
Help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment throughout the facility
Requirements
Experience in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building maintenance required
Prior experience in a healthcare or long-term care facility strongly preferred
Supervisory or lead maintenance experience is a plus
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Strong organizational and communication skills
Solid computer skills for tracking work orders and maintenance records
Ability to multitask and respond effectively in urgent situations
Dependable, detail-oriented, and team-focused
