Senior Technical Designer - Production
EMERGING BLUE, Greensboro, NC, United States
Job Description
Senior Technical Designer – Production
Our client is hiring a Senior Technical Designer to own the technical execution for all Women's styles in production — partnering directly with Design and Merchandising to make sure every garment fits, functions, and reflects our brand.
You're equal parts detail‑obsessed and collaborative. You thrive in an environment where you wear multiple hats, move quickly, and take real ownership of the product.
What You’ll Do
Build and maintain tech packs — measurements, construction, grading — in Excel and our PLM system
Lead fit sessions on live model and communicate corrections to overseas vendors with clear written direction and imagery
Manage styles independently from dev pass‑off through PP approval and production
Work with PD to track samples; flag delays and keep cross‑functional teams informed
Partner with Design to ensure fit intent and construction are aligned
Identify quality, construction, or costing risks early and provide solutions
Mentor and support junior TD/interns on the team
What You Bring
7+ years of technical design experience, with a strong focus in Women's apparel
Extensive knowledge of garment construction, fit, grading, and pattern‑making
Experience moving styles through the full production cycle, start to finish
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Excel, and PLM tools (Vault knowledge a plus)
Clear, confident communicator — with vendors, with design, and across the business
Highly organized, calm under pressure, and able to manage a high volume of styles across seasons
