Key Responsibilities

Maintain a basic knowledge of all bank products, procedures, policies, and regulatory issues (e.g., Bank Secrecy Act, Privacy, Fair Lending, Regulation E).

Follow proper procedures accurately for all customer‑servicing activities.

Retain existing customers and develop new relationships.

Act as the customers’ single point of contact for all bank products and services.

Consistently meet and often exceed performance goals and participate in sales campaigns.

Attend all meetings, bank functions, and community events as assigned.

Provide excellent customer service—greeting, smiling, using the customer’s name, building rapport.

Identify and match customer product needs through interviews and discussions, including referrals to other staff.

Open new accounts, certificates of deposit, and other ancillary products; ensure proper paperwork and data entry.

Assist with routine requests such as balance inquiries, statements, check copies, stop payments, holds, online banking, ACH, automatic funds transfer, direct deposit, wire processing, coin processing, notary services, and privacy.

Process a variety of transactions quickly with minimal errors according to bank policies (accepting checks, money orders, savings bonds, traveler’s checks, cashier’s checks, loan payments, etc.).

Maintain appropriate drawer limits, perform cash verifications, and execute vault duties.

Verify all transactions, place holds as appropriate, and perform cash drawer audits to ensure compliance.

Proactively resolve customer complaints, problems, and account issues, including charge‑off repayment plans.

Perform security functions, opening and closing the bank and vault, and ensuring overall safety.

Master the Primary Purpose and Essential duties of the Relationship Banker I position.

Qualifications

High School Diploma strongly preferred; some college strongly preferred.

One year of retail experience preferred.

Cash handling experience preferred.

Superior customer service skills required.

Basic mathematics for problem solving.

Exact or highly accurate work required.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to manage time effectively and work independently.

Good judgment and decision‑making skills.

Critical thinking and logical reasoning.

Multi‑tasking ability.
