Lead, Trade Compliance – Job Summary The Lead Trade Compliance role supports Harley-Davidson’s global import and export compliance activities, ensuring adherence to applicable international trade laws, regulations, and company policies. Acting as a subject‑matter resource and business partner, the role works closely with internal stakeholders to enable compliant and efficient global trade operations.

Job Responsibilities

Support and promote compliant import, export, and re-export activities in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.

Serve as a trade compliance resource to internal stakeholders through guidance, education, and issue resolution.

Assist with the interpretation and application of trade regulations impacting business operations (e.g., customs, export controls, sanctions).

Participate in training and awareness activities related to global trade compliance topics.

Support preparation and submission of trade‑related filings and government requests (e.g., licenses, rulings, disclosures, certifications) as required.

Interface with internal teams, logistics partners, customs brokers, freight forwarders, and external advisors to support compliant trade operations.

Assist in monitoring and assessing trade compliance risks, audits, and reviews.

Contribute to process improvements, automation, and optimization initiatives to enhance efficiency and scalability.

Support special projects related to tariff mitigation, duty recovery, trade program enhancements, and regulatory change.

Education Requirements High School Diploma or Equivalent required.

Experience Requirements

Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience in trade compliance, customs, export controls, or related global trade roles.

Working knowledge of U.S. and/or international trade compliance concepts.

Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.

Ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical business guidance.

Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, evolving environment with multiple stakeholders.

Strong collaboration skills and ability to work independently with limited supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

Exposure to manufacturing, automotive, industrial, or complex supply‑chain environments.

Experience with global trade programs, audits, or regulatory engagements.

Familiarity with trade data, systems, or reporting tools.

Experience working with external advisors, brokers, or consulting partners.

Additional Information Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States.

Pay Range: $108,000 – $168,000

Visa Sponsorship: This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship or visa transfer.

Relocation: This position is eligible for domestic relocation assistance (within posted country).

The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
