Overview The Superintendent is responsible for directing all onsite field operations, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence across the project. This role requires proactive leadership, strong communication, and effective coordination of subcontractors and field staff to ensure the project is built efficiently and to spec. Superintendents are expected to take full ownership of their jobsite and maintain Elite’s standards of excellence, accountability, and execution.
Core Responsibilities
Lead all jobsite activity from preconstruction through final turnover
Establish a positive, high‑accountability jobsite culture focused on mentorship, quality control, and safety
Oversee and enforce all project schedules, coordinating closely with the project team and trade partners
Drive weekly field meetings to cover look‑ahead planning, safety talks, quality checks, RFI and submittal updates, and logistics
Review plans and specifications in detail before vertical construction—identify conflicts, long‑lead items, and jurisdictional requirements early
Communicate clearly with project managers, engineers, city officials, consultants, and trades regarding field execution
Monitor compliance with building codes, Fair Housing and ADA standards, and general project requirements
Support the development and enforcement of the site logistics plan including staging, deliveries, parking, and site cleanliness
Hold subcontractors accountable to performance, safety, and sequencing requirements
Ensure field documentation is accurate, up to date, and stored for turnover (e.g., as‑builts, logs, inspection reports)
Lead and participate in safety walks, SWPPP inspections
Coordinate with the Assistant Superintendent to align on daily objectives and priorities
Maintain and update short‑term schedules, tracking progress over 2‑ and 4‑week lookahead windows
Organize subcontractor pre‑con meetings, ensuring all required documentation and approvals are in place before mobilization
Work with the project manager to elevate issues that impact cost, quality, or schedule
Field Execution Standards
Complete and submit daily logs every workday through project completion
Maintain an always up‑to‑date schedule, with a final review each Friday
Walk the jobsite every morning to verify subcontractor presence and proper work sequencing
Confirm materials and subcontractors are coordinated the day prior (call, text, email as needed)
Lead from the front: maintain a positive, solution‑oriented attitude and hold full responsibility for your project’s success
Monitor and lead site safety and cleanliness at all times
Coordinate pre‑mobilization meetings with all subs before they start work on‑site
Proactively identify long‑lead items and ordering timelines
Ensure drawings, specs, and contract terms are being followed precisely
Drive project toward on‑time or early completion and resolve field challenges quickly
Attend project closeout meetings and final walkthroughs with the client
Additional Expectations
Assist with permitting and field inspections as needed
Support team training efforts to maintain procedural and safety compliance
Take on other duties as assigned to meet project objectives
Lock up the job site when needed and monitor material deliveries for accuracy Certifications
OSHA 30 certification required
