
Commercial Lines Account Manager

The Commercial Lines Account Manager plays a critical role in supporting the agency’s commercial insurance clients by delivering exceptional service, maintaining strong client relationships, and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of day-to-day account management activities. This role partners closely with Producers, the New Business team, and carrier partners to support both retention and growth within the commercial lines book of business.
Key Responsibilities Client Service & Relationship Management
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned commercial clients
Build and maintain strong, trusted client relationships through proactive communication
Respond to client inquiries regarding coverage, billing, claims, and policy changes in a timely and professional manner
Educate clients on policy coverages, limitations, and options in a clear and client-friendly manner
Policy Management & Service
Process policy changes including endorsements, cancellations, reinstatements, and audits
Review policies, endorsements, and renewals for accuracy and completeness
Prepare certificates of insurance, auto ID cards, and evidence of coverage
Manage policy documentation and maintain accurate, detailed client records within the agency management system (e.g., EZLynx)
Manage the renewal process from start to finish:
Review upcoming renewals for coverage gaps, rate changes, and market opportunities
Gather updated client information as needed
Prepare renewal proposals and summaries
Collaborate with Producers and New Business team on remarketing strategies when appropriate
Support client retention by identifying coverage improvements and cost-saving opportunities
Communicate effectively with carrier underwriters and representatives
Submit applications, supplemental forms, and required documentation to carriers
Follow up on quotes, underwriting requests, and policy issuance
Advocate for clients with carriers when issues arise
Work closely with Producers, New Business Manager, and support staff to ensure seamless client experience
Assist with onboarding new clients, including account setup and transition from sales to service
Support internal process improvement initiatives and standardization efforts
Qualifications & Skills
Active Property & Casualty Insurance License (required)
2+ years of commercial lines experience preferred
Strong understanding of commercial insurance coverages and policy structures
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
High attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency with agency management systems (EZLynx experience a plus)
Team-oriented mindset with a proactive, problem-solving approach
