Lewis James Professional is a woman-owned staff augmentation, project consulting and direct hire search and placement firm. We are currently seeking a Mortgage Loan Processor for a contract to hire opportunity with a financial services client.
Responsibilities
Examine and verify residential loan application files to verify that application data is complete and meets established standards
Suggest loans be denied due to not meeting minimum standard
Contact the credit bureau and employer to verify accuracy of information.
Assist in gathering loan conditions and submission for final loan approval to meet established loan closing dates
Convey loan status to sales partners
Sustain knowledge of regulations and compliance while complying with company policies and secondary market requirements pertaining to credit/security standards and regulatory requirements relative to conventional, government and self-employed loans, among others
Ability to collaborate with others, work with confidential information, follow up with customers, and refer customers to appropriate person(s), composing correspondence and memoranda.
Understanding of loan processing policies and procedures in order to correct errors and resolve discrepancies.
Assisting loan officer with each file submission
Understanding of appraisal and underwriting process
Qualifications
Minimum of three (3) years of mortgage loan processing and/or related experience
Experience processing FHA or VA loans preferred
Ability to deal with difficult individuals while maintaining composure.
Ability to meet performance goals, objectives, and deadlines; plans ahead, anticipates problems, and forecasts outcomes.
Ability to display a high degree of creativity and latitude when performing job functions.
