Senior Product Designer - Design Systems | Italy
This is a high-impact product design role focused on building and scaling a foundational design system that supports a fast-growing, global SaaS platform. You will define the vision, structure, and governance of design systems that power consistent, scalable, and user-centered product experiences. Working closely with engineers and product teams, you will bridge the gap between design and front-end implementation, shaping how components and patterns are built and adopted across the organization. This role combines hands‑on product design execution with strategic system ownership, ensuring design decisions translate into real‑world product impact. You will also play a key role in integrating emerging AI capabilities into design workflows to improve efficiency and unlock new creative opportunities. In a fully remote, globally distributed environment, you will help drive design excellence and consistency across a rapidly evolving product ecosystem.
Accountabilities
Lead the strategy, roadmap, and long-term vision for the design system. Design, develop, and maintain reusable UI components, patterns, and guidelines. Establish governance models and ensure consistency across product experiences. Create clear and accessible documentation to support internal adoption. Act as a key bridge between design and engineering to align implementation standards. Contribute hands‑on to product design work, including user research, prototyping, and feature design. Drive adoption of the design system through training, advocacy, and enablement. Explore and integrate AI tools and methodologies into design workflows. Requirements
6+ years of experience in product design, with strong exposure to design systems. Proven experience building or scaling design systems from early stages. Strong portfolio demonstrating systems thinking and user-centered design work. Solid understanding of front‑end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or React. Experience collaborating closely with engineering teams on component‑based architecture. Strong communication and storytelling skills to influence stakeholders.
