As a senior manager, brand communications, you will be responsible for leading and executing external communications plans that elevate Starbucks brand and culture partnerships, brand campaigns, and Starbucks cultural and marketing strategies.

As a senior manager in brand communications, you will…

Create and drive external communications plans for Starbucks brand and culture partnerships that span entertainment, music and fashion. You will serve as the external communications lead on large cross‑functional team that includes marketing, social media, paid and owned channel teams.

Develop and execute annual communication plan that amplifies the brand and marketing work as part of Back to Starbucks. Partner with cross‑functional teams such as advertising, experiential marketing, product, and business strategy to identify and land feature stories with media and support thought leadership.

Thrive in a fast‑paced environment, demonstrate strong problem‑solving skills, and ability to navigate ambiguity while leading an agency team and driving the comms plans within a large organization – all while acting in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.

We’d love to hear from people with

Progressive experience in external communications and earned media strategy at a global brand and/or PR agency expertise supporting high visibility consumer brands, with demonstrated ability to translate business, consumer, and media insights into impactful communications plans (10+ years).

Bring a high level of cultural fluency and digital intuition—closely tracking emerging trends, conversations, and creators across social platforms to inform proactive, culturally relevant earned media strategies.

Ability to lead, influence and collaborate with large cross‑functional teams.

Strong executive presence with proven ability to engage, influence, and build trust with peers and senior leadership.

If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job‑related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
