About the Position

This role is an on-campus, in-person position. The Director of Rehabilitation will be responsible for creating, directing, coordinating, and administering physical therapy/rehabilitation for student-athletes. The position will play a vital role in optimizing rehabilitation and return-to-play, as well as focusing on evaluation and injury prevention. Collaboration with athletic trainers, physicians, nutrition and human performance staff, and mental health counselors will be essential. Services will be provided in a professional manner within the defined scope of practice and NCAA, state, and national guidelines.

Essential Functions Rehabilitation of orthopedic injuries for student-athletes from various sports.

Implementation and programming for injury prevention.

Oversight and direction of return-to-play programming.

Collaboration with physicians, athletic trainers, nutrition/human performance staff, and mental health counselors.

Effectively communicating and educating patients, parents, and coaches.

Detailed and thorough patient documentation within EMR.

Research and implementation of data-driven processes to assist in program development and decision-making.

Job Requirements Requires long hours into the evening or weekends during parts of the year.

Requires occasional travel to attend sporting events and conferences/continuing education courses.

Expected to work through a variety of weather and environmental conditions, long hours, and hands-on assignments that can provide physical demands.

Qualifications Education and Experience:

Masters or Doctor of Physical Therapy is required. Minimum of two years of full-time post-graduate experience providing treatment and rehabilitation of injuries is required. Current license in Physical Therapy or license eligible. NATABOC (AT) preferred. Experience working with Division 1 student-athletes or professional athletes is desired.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate broadly across the University and develop and maintain effective relationships. Strong written communication skills and customer service orientation. Problem-solving, organizational, planning, and time management skills. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel). Working knowledge of Teamworks and Smartabase preferred.

CPR/AED and Basic-Life Support certifications required. Additional certifications (dry-needling, BFR, PES, CES, CSCS, etc.) are preferred.
