Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Real Estate Closing Paralegal (Closer) to manage residential real estate transactions. This role is integral to ensuring smooth, accurate, and timely closings and requires close coordination with attorneys, lenders, title companies, real estate agents, and clients. The position will be in our Northeast office location. Salary Range: commensurate with experience.
Key Responsibilities
Manage residential real estate transactions.
Prepare, review, and finalize closing documents, including settlement statements, closing disclosures, deeds, affidavits, and loan documents.
Review title commitments, surveys, and title policies.
Coordinate with lenders, real estate agents, title departments and transactional parties to satisfy closing requirements.
Schedule closings and confirm readiness of all parties and documentation.
Conduct or assist attorneys with in-person and remote residential closings.
Ensure proper receipt, disbursement, and documentation of funds in compliance with regulatory and firm requirements.
Record closing documents and confirm successful recording.
Assemble and distribute final closing packages to clients and lenders.
Maintain accurate and well-organized transaction files and closing checklists.
Provide consistent status updates to attorneys and clients throughout the closing process.
Qualifications
Associate’s degree or Paralegal Certificate required (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
Must have 2-5 years of experience as a residential real estate closing paralegal.
Strong working knowledge of residential real estate transactions.
Familiarity with title insurance, escrow procedures, and lender requirements.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple closings and deadlines simultaneously.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SoftPro (or similar).
Experience with real estate closing software.
Knowledge of South Carolina residential real estate and recording requirements preferred.
