Commercial Property and Casualty Inside Territory Manager

The Inside Territory Manager (Inside TM) is an individual contributor role primarily responsible for the management of customer experience, new, and renewal business production in the assigned territory. The Inside TM will be the relationship leader and key point of contact in the territory working with distribution partners to drive the company brand, creating awareness of products, services, and solutions available. This role will lead premium growth and retention strategies to increase share of wallet. This role requires an experienced commercial insurance customer success and sales professional who can link strategy to execution.

Department Distribution

Work Arrangement

Employees who live within 30 miles of the TMG home office are expected to follow a hybrid or in‑office schedule. The initial training period may require additional in‑office days.

Accountabilities Customer Success

Serve as the main point of contact for the territory’s distribution partners, create valuable connections, and build trusted relationships.

Manage all aspects of day‑to‑day customer success and sales activities in the assigned territory.

Position the company as a lead carrier for focus niches.

Be a subject matter expert for company’s products and services.

Provide proactive outreach to distribution partners to promote GuideOne.

Review and professionally handle inquiries from distribution partners with a commitment and focus on timeliness, quality, and efficiency.

Distribution Management

Utilize performance and key risk reporting tools like CRM software to manage assigned territory and share performance trends with distribution partners.

Drive financial performance of assigned territory exceeding premium and profitability goals.

Monitor and manage submission levels, hit and loss ratios.

Conduct regular performance reviews with key distribution partners focusing on new and renewal business and profitability performance.

Perform annual sales planning and engagement segmentation to designate how you will work with and focus on each distribution partner in the assigned territory.

Conduct assigned territory reviews with manager and assigned underwriters, focusing on new and renewal business and profitability performance.

Stay current on competition, underwriting environment, and market conditions.

Make recommendations for distribution appointments and cancellations.

Focus on underperforming distribution partners and put in place performance improvement plan of action.

Underwriting Support

Support underwriting in the evaluation and review of submissions within our appetite, share market intelligence, and adhere to underwriting guidelines.

Negotiate pricing, terms & conditions, and deal structures with distribution partners maintaining the quality of the risk and pricing as needed.

Provide administrative support and aid to assigned underwriters and distribution partners for resolution of issues.

Collaborate with assigned underwriters on pipeline management.

Work together with assigned underwriters to find appropriate solutions and promote our products and services.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education/work experience. Professional designations (CIC, CPCU, ARM, P&C Producers License) highly desired.

Minimum of three (3) years of commercial insurance customer service, account management, or sales experience.

Strong relationship management capabilities in support of distribution partnerships.

Demonstrable expertise with a variety of customer service, account management and sales concepts, practices, and procedures in commercial insurance.

Experience in working with underwriting personnel and distribution.

Excellent listening and presentation skills via phone and video conference.

Knowledge of commercial insurance – preferably in the non‑profit human services/education, religious institutions, and small business niches.

Established record of meeting new and renewal business and profitability goals.

Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.

Talented at making connections and partnerships focusing on creating great distribution partner experiences.

Well‑versed in distribution management and detailed knowledge of distribution partnerships.

Ability to create connections, communicate clearly, and persuasively with decision makers.

Strong negotiation and conflict management skills. Ability to negotiate best position and manage through conflicting priorities.

Experience with Outlook, Excel, Word, Tableau, and PowerPoint. Must be able to interpret sales reports, spreadsheets, and budgets.

Knowledgeable in analysis and presentation of data.

Good degree of self‑motivation, organizational and time management skills.

Strong customer service skills.

Experience with CRM programs.

Pay Range $61,500 – $90,000 annual base salary depending on experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
