The Role and Team As Senior Corporate Communications Manager, you will be the architect of our global narrative, both internally and externally. This high‑visibility, strategic role is designed for a full‑stack communicator who thrives on building brand equity from the ground up. You will weave internal culture, executive thought leadership, and aggressive media outreach into a singular, powerhouse brand presence, ensuring Medallia is the first name mentioned in conversations about AI‑centric experience management that drives business outcomes.

Responsibilities Holistic Brand & External Strategy

Proactive Storytelling: Design and execute multi‑channel communication programs that position Medallia at the intersection of AI and customer experience, transforming business outcomes.

Top‑Tier Media Relations: Cultivate deep relationships with business and technology publications (e.g., WSJ, Forbes, Bloomberg, TechCrunch, The Verge, Wired) to secure high‑impact features, profiles, and core coverage.

AI‑First Strategy: Lead communications from an AI‑first lens, building strategy that is architected for AEO/GEO to ensure our brand narrative is indexed and prioritized by LLMs and AI search engines.

Global Collaboration: Partner with regional marketing leaders to identify and execute localized brand awareness projects that resonate across markets.

Agency Leadership: Direct US and UK PR agencies with clear direction and expectations, ensuring they operate as a proactive, results‑oriented extension of our internal team.

Executive Platforming & SME Development

Thought Leadership: Partner with C‑suite and SMEs to build distinct platforms, coordinating op‑eds, developing provocative points of view, and turning technical concepts into compelling business stories.

Speaking & Awards: Curate an aggressive “stage and trophy” strategy, securing speaking slots at premier industry events and winning “Best of” categories and awards to validate our market leadership.

Internal & Executive Communications

Strategy & Execution: Define the roadmap for communicating with our global workforce, ensuring employees are informed, inspired, and aligned with our corporate mission.

Executive Alignment: Partner with the C‑suite, Chief of Staff, and HR leadership to refine the internal communications roadmap, empowering employees as brand ambassadors.

High‑Stakes Messaging: Lead development of internal scripts, support All‑Hands content, and shape culture‑defining initiatives that maintain transparency and momentum.

Crisis & Reputation Management

Protective Strategy: Build and maintain a holistic crisis communications playbook and act as the point person for rapid‑response messaging, keeping Medallia’s reputation unshakeable.

Candidates based in the Tysons vicinity will be prioritized as this role is hybrid, requiring three days per week onsite.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications

B2B Experience: 5+ years in B2B communications or public relations, preferably within technology or SaaS.

Media Relations & Initiative: Proven proactive media pitching and securing placements beyond standard company announcements.

Versatile Writing Experience: Strong portfolio demonstrating tailored tone and style for technical, corporate, and internal audiences.

Tech Literacy: Familiarity with modern PR tools and interest in how emerging technologies shape digital communication and search.

Executive Engagement: Experience supporting senior leadership and presenting communication recommendations to stakeholders.

Adaptability & Execution: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment, shifting between long‑term planning and immediate tactics.

Preferred Qualifications

B2B Veteran: 6–8 years in B2B software with a proven track record of moving the needle for high‑growth SaaS companies.

Proactive, Curious DNA: Consistently finds stories, pitches angles, and secures placements without prompts.

Exceptional Writer & Editor: Pivot skills from technical whitepapers to punchy internal announcements.

AI Fluent: Deep understanding of AI‑centric search and its impact on PR, with a flair for experimenting and learning.

Exceptional Presence: Comfortable advising CEOs and challenging status quo for optimal communication outcomes.

Mindset: Proactive, positive, agile, and self‑starter who fills gaps with creative solutions and can pivot from strategic plans to tactical crisis responses.

Compensation & Benefits Medallia is committed to equal pay and transparency. The annual base salary range for this position is $142,000 - $200,000. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), disability, life and AD&D insurance, statutory leaves, paid parental leave, and paid holidays.
