Director, Middle Market Commercial Bank Relationship Manager
We are currently seeking a Senior Relationship Manager (RM) with commercial banking expertise in the nonprofit industry to join the firm’s Not‑For‑Profit Banking Group, an industry specialty focus within our Middle Market Commercial Bank. This position focuses on developing and maintaining client relationships within the nonprofit sector, providing financial advice and solutions to clients. A candidate in this role will act as the primary point of contact for clients, introducing them to the bank’s financial products and services and ensuring that the bank meets all of their operational and servicing needs. This candidate will work independently and in collaboration with internal teams to deliver customized solutions and drive business growth and new client acquisition.

Nonprofit organizations with an annual operating budget above $30 million
Target segments include associations, nonprofit healthcare, education and 501(c)(3) charitable organizations
Responsibilities
Maintain and build strong relationships with clients, serving as the main point of contact
Originate and pursue new business opportunities within the Not‑For‑Profit industry, acquiring new clients for the bank
Deliver an array of financial solutions for clients, including credit, treasury management, depository and related services
Work closely with internal teams and product specialists to deliver integrated solutions to clients
Assess and mitigate risks, financial and operational, associated with client relationships
Establish a strong brand and presence through industry networking and community activities
Adhere to the capital culture and values and represent the firm with integrity in all situations
Demonstrate an excellent understanding of financial, legal and reputational risks facing large corporate banks
Create a strong business network and proven community engagement
A willingness to travel between Mid‑Atlantic and Northeast regions
Build strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to foster deep relationships with key decision makers and prospect new client relationships
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or relevant military experience
At least 5 years of commercial banking experience
At least 5 years of experience with credit skills and treasury management solutions
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics
At least 1 year of commercial banking experience within the Not‑for‑Profit industry
Strong understanding of financial concepts and accounting
Completion of a formal credit training program
Advanced knowledge of industry, market and all banking products

The minimum and maximum full‑time annual salaries for this role are listed below by location:
McLean, VA: $206,000 – $235,100 for MMB Relationship Manager IV New York, NY: $224,800 – $256,500 for MMB Relationship Manager IV
This role is also eligible to earn performance‑based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long‑term incentives (LTI).
