We are an Atlanta-based organization seeking a
Curriculum Content Writer
specializing in workforce training for regulated human services environments, including senior and elder care. This contractor will research, write, and develop high-quality online course content that supports professional development, compliance alignment, and real-world application for non-medical professionals.
The primary objective of this role is to create clear, accurate, and engaging curriculum content that aligns with adult learning principles, state and national approval requirements, and organizational quality standards. The Curriculum Content Writer works closely with instructional designers, subject matter experts, and internal stakeholders to ensure content is instructionally sound, current, and ready for digital delivery.
The ideal candidate is a skilled writer and researcher with experience developing professional training content, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects independently while collaborating within a cross-functional team.
Key Responsibilities
Research, write, and develop course content for online training modules, including courses, assessments, and evaluations, with a target population of the non-medical senior living/elder care workforce
Translate subject matter expertise into learner-friendly instructional content grounded in adult learning principles
Develop content aligned to workforce needs, regulatory expectations, and practical application in service-based environments
Content Editing & Review
Edit, format, and standardize content submitted by internal or external contributors for consistency, clarity, and instructional alignment
Review and update existing courses to support state approval renewals, resubmissions, and IACET compliance requirements
Participate in course evaluation reviews and recommend content updates or revisions as needed
Source and curate images, visuals, and supporting materials for online courses
Collaborate with instructional designers on the development of interactive activities, video segments, and multimedia-enhanced learning experiences
Coordinate translation of course content into Spanish or other languages as required
Collaboration & External Engagement
Maintain course instructional plans and documentation
Work collaboratively with instructional design, technology, and business development teams
Provide input into proposals, presentations, and conference materials
Represent the organization at conferences, meetings, or external events as appropriate
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or 3–7 years of experience researching and writing professional training or curriculum content
Content background in areas such as senior living/elder care, workforce development, soft skills, human services
Solid understanding of adult learning theories and principles; ADDIE
Exceptional writing, editing, research, and analytical skills
Strong organizational and time management abilities
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications
Experience with or willingness to learn basic HTML
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with learning management systems (LMS)
Familiarity with credentialing, continuing education, or regulatory training requirements
Experience supporting IACET-aligned or state-approved training programs
Experience with Articulate Storyline and/or Adobe Creative Suite
Work Arrangement
Full-time contract role (40hrs/wk), with potential for a permanent position
