Product Marketing Manager, Vacuum – Quincy Compressor
As a Product Marketing Manager, Vacuum – Quincy Compressor, your mission is to be the driving force behind Quincy's vacuum product portfolio alongside the Vacuum Business Line Manager and Business Development Specialist. You will report to the Business Line Manager and work closely with all sales channel personnel to grow the vacuum business.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute plans to profitably grow the Vacuum Business for the Quincy Customer Center.
Serve as the vacuum product expert, with deep understanding of mechanical design, software applications, and control philosophy across the portfolio.
Identify portfolio gaps versus sales goals and initiatives, and propose solutions to meet business needs; in collaboration with the Business Line Manager, create and maintain a rolling 2‑year product roadmap.
Follow the established process for vacuum product development within the Quincy portfolio, including ideation, business justification, cost analysis, prototyping, launch, updates, and retirement.
Lead product launch activities such as pricing and deviation analysis, branded documentation, marketing materials, online presence, business systems setup, and service training.
Develop marketing content including product videos and demonstrations, and support external webinars to strengthen Quincy's relevance in vacuum markets.
Maintain and update products and documentation to reflect design changes, performance improvements, and sales or cost adjustments; manage the database of written product specifications.
Support achievement of consolidated gross profit targets by working closely with Marketing, Finance, and the Product Company, including recommendations for pricing changes.
Assist with inventory planning by managing stock levels, lead times, and minimum balances to ensure product availability while minimizing excess inventory.
Act as the voice of the customer with product companies, ensuring awareness of how performance impacts customer satisfaction; align production plans with delivery and timing goals.
Support sales channels through customer visits, application support, product sizing and selection, and technical expertise to identify customer needs and buying requirements.
Maintain strong knowledge of competitive pricing and products to support sales, maximize gross profit, and communicate strengths and weaknesses to sales partners and leadership.
Prepare and deliver product presentations highlighting features, benefits, and applications; train Sales and Distribution teams to ensure world‑class customer support capabilities.
Required Experience and Skills
3 to 5 years experience in a relevant field.
Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment design.
Clear understanding of vacuum system concepts such as pump‑down, pressure drop, centralization, condensate/humidity management, pressure set‑point control, valving and instrumentation.
Strong skills in developing impactful presentations.
Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
Flexibility in adapting to new situations and enjoying challenges presented.
Bias for action, taking initiative when needs or obstacles are identified.
Entrepreneurial thinking with analytical skills; customer and service oriented with a pragmatic approach.
Team player – able to cooperate with commercial and technical people, and communicate well with remote colleagues.
Fluent in English.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Experience in equipment sales, product management, or business development.
Strong technical knowledge of vacuum pumps and systems.
Experience with a variety of vacuum applications.
Industry sales experience with a history of delivering sales results.
Accountability Reports to Business Line Manager, Vacuum.
Education and Requirements
An academic background in Engineering and/or Marketing or equivalent work experience.
Must have a high technical and commercial aptitude.
Understanding of the local market and local distribution is a plus.
Physical Demands
Must be able to move about the facility regularly (standing, walking).
Must be fit, willing and able to travel regularly by plane and car.
