Do you have an interest or background in local news or journalism? Do you like to write? We're looking for someone who wants to help cover the news that's important to our Mifflin and Juniata County readers. That person should be community-minded and care about the details.
The Sentinel, a daily newspaper located in Lewistown, PA, has an immediate opening for a part-time news reporter. Our market is located in Central Pennsylvania, a short drive from Penn State University.
Responsibilities
Cover areas may include government meetings, breaking news, crime and court reporting, business news and community features.
Qualifications
Prior experience in a college or professional newsroom is not required, but is a definite plus.
Familiarity with Google Docs, Adobe InDesign and Photoshop is not required, but is a definite plus.
Part-time hourly position with reimbursement for work-related expenses. Starting hourly rate is based on experience and skill level.
Applicants must have a valid driver9s license and a personal vehicle available to perform essential job functions.
