The Director of Network Connectivity position resides in the Wireless department at CableLabs. This department conducts research and development in new and emerging wireless technologies that include 4G, 5G, 6G, Wi‑Fi, and spectrum sharing strategies. It also works across technologies to conduct converged network research and development for future network infrastructure convergence. Our team plays a crucial role in developing industry standards and technical regulatory policy for mobile and Wi‑Fi network design, deployment, service delivery and operations in licensed, unlicensed, and shared spectrum.
Why This Role Is Exciting The Director of Network Connectivity will lead cross technology convergence and connectivity activities with responsibility for project execution and strategy related to all aspects of converged network services. This role is responsible for translating business requirements into a set of strategic and technical roadmaps to drive research and technology decisions in all areas of wireless, wireline and related convergence technologies.
What You’ll Do
Contribute to and execute the CableLabs network connectivity strategy across access technologies
Develop technology, platforms, solutions for seamless integration across wireless, wireline, optical, and satellite systems
Create and execute CableLabs standardization strategy for converged network connectivity aligning with member companies
Participate in design and execution of innovation projects which explore novel approaches to wired and wireless E2E network convergence
Translate broad business and strategic requirements into a set of actionable technical requirements driving architecture/technology decisions
Qualifications What Is a Must Have
15+ years of experience in wireless/wireline network engineering and standards work for a vendor or an operator, preferably both
5+ years in senior leadership (Director/VP-level or equivalent)
Proven experience developing technology and solutions for multi-technology networks (wireless, wireline, optical, satellite)
A strategic thinker with broad experience in the wireless, cable and broad communications industry
Ability to create and develop strategic planning, budgeting, and roadmap development
Expertise in developing cross-functional leadership and stakeholder alignment
Ability to perform and deliver, individually or collaboratively, with minimum supervision
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills is required.
What Will Set You Apart
Knowledge of 3GPP NR RAN and core architectures and functionality
Knowledge of MSO HFC and DOCSIS cable network architecture and functionality
Knowledge of Wi‑Fi and LTE/5G interworking is a plus
Experience in regulatory and standards environments (3GPP, IEEE, ITU, SCTE)
Knowledge of OSS/BSS integration and orchestration platforms
Knowledge of IP/MPLS, SDN, NFV, and cloud-native networking

$186,160- $239,200 . This position is eligible for bonus incentive compensation up to
25%
of base salary.
