Job Description and Duties
The Office of Fiscal Services (OFS) includes both the Accounting Services Branch and Budget Management Branch and is responsible for allocating, reviewing, tracking, and managing CDCR’s budget, totaling approximately $14 billion. OFS provides fiscal oversight and budgetary support for all California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) programs. This role offers a unique opportunity to interact with all levels within CDCR as well as various control agencies, the Legislature, and the Legislative Analyst’s Office.
Working Conditions This position is primarily in-office and the office location is in Sacramento County.
Responsibilities The Deputy Director, Fiscal Services serves as a high-level policy adviser and expert of fiscal and budgetary matters that impact the Department and its operations. The position offers the opportunity to shape statewide policy and departmental operations through collaboration with program experts and stakeholders.

Desirable Qualifications
Broad and extensive experience in fiscal and budget management, including principles, practices, and methods of fiscal accountability (e.g., capital outlay, procurement, special projects, position allocation, cost analysis, and Budget Change Proposals (BCPs), and knowledge and utilization of automated resource management systems.
Experience providing leadership, flexibility, and judgment in managerial and program administration, budget management, and fiscal processes; and the ability to analyze complex program issues or problems and develop recommendations to resolve the issues.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex issues to stakeholders and senior leaders.
Demonstrated professionalism gaining the confidence of top-level administrators and strategically engaging, influencing, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
