
Digital Asset Manager

Our client, a Jewish organization based in NYC, is seeking a highly detail‑oriented Digital Asset Manager (Photo + Video) with experience working in a newsroom or media outlet. This role is ideal for a multimedia expert with a strong foundation in photo and video asset management, as well as experience implementing and migrating digital systems. The ideal candidate is both creative and operationally strong—capable of managing large volumes of content while maintaining rigorous organization, quality, and consistency. This role will play a key part in both asset management and optimizing digital asset management tasks.
Rate: $38/hr.
Location: This is role is remote on Friday’s and onsite Mon.-Thurs in their office in Downtown Manhattan.
Responsibilities
Review, organize, and manage raw photo and video assets from various shoots
Curate and select the strongest visuals based on quality, relevance, and storytelling
Export, label, and categorize content for efficient access and distribution
Upload and manage assets within digital asset management (DAM) systems
Maintain consistency in metadata tagging and file naming conventions
Oversee archival processes and ensure proper storage of historical assets
Perform quality control to ensure all assets meet technical and editorial standards
Ensure copyright compliance and proper usage rights for all media
Work under tight deadlines to prepare assets for publication and distribution
Support and help lead migration of media assets into new systems and platforms
Assist in implementing and optimizing workflows across cloud storage and DAM tools
Required Qualifications
Proven experience as a Photo/Video Asset Manager (or similar) within a newsroom or media outlet (required)
Deep understanding of digital asset management systems and best practices
Experience managing and organizing large-scale media libraries
Expertise in metadata tagging, taxonomy, and file organization strategies
Experience with cloud-based video storage solutions (e.g., Google Cloud Storage—not Google Drive), including migration
Hands‑on experience with Digital Asset Management (DAM) platforms, including implementation and migration
Skilled in editing overlay software (e.g., LucidLink) and experience implementing these tools into workflows
Familiarity with Jewish culture, traditions, and community values is a plus!
