About The Role This position helps to promote Canopy USA brands by helping to support and manage sales operations in two markets. The role will support the Midwest markets of Illinois and Ohio, in developing and executing sales support and marketing strategies, meeting quarterly goals, and providing guidance and training to teams. This role will also manage Territory Account Managers in Illinois and Ohio, and potentially other markets.
How You’ll Make a Difference
Manage two different markets in Midwest region (Illinois and Ohio)
Ensure development and execution of differentiated market strategy for each market through support of each market’s core team
Identify product launch needs and support roll-out of all new product launches in all markets.
Evaluate opportunities for growth within each market and make recommendations for key initiatives.
Understand and monitor individual competitor pricing and promotional strategies; make recommendations regarding pricing adjustments as needed.
Develop key account strategy in all partner states and build relationships with buyers and other influencers within key accounts.
Develop and manage promotional and discount strategies with partners.
Develop competitive intelligence system for uncovering and sharing market information with internal and external team members.
Work closely with field marketing and sales teams to identify event and training needs and build out plan to meet those needs.
Work with RSD to complete sales forecast for AOP.
Build strong relationships with senior sales leadership of partners and manage high level communication with partners’ sales teams.
Minimum 2x a month travel to work with partners’ sales teams in field (40% travel).
Lead online sales meetings with partners (usually 2x per week).
Build out and manage KPIs for sales teams.
Represent Canopy USA at industry events and conferences in partner markets.
Utilize and update Salesforce CRM with visits and weekly activities.
Execute job duties across all Canopy USA subsidiaries and affiliated companies, ensuring consistent standards, communication, and operational alignment throughout the enterprise.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has direct report(s) and supervisory responsibility within the Sales department. This employee has the authority to hire and fire other employees, or this employee’s suggestions and recommendations as to the hiring, firing, advancement, promotion, or any other change of status of other employees are given particular weight.
Education and Experience
Prior cannabis sales experience.
Prior management experience.
Prior CPG experience with strong analytical experience.
Experience and knowledge of selling premium quality grade products and managing a broad portfolio of products.
High school diploma or equivalent – required.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Passion for Canopy USA and knowledge of the industry.
Strong ability to model and train sales teams on consultative selling methods.
Data driven and experience with different sales and data systems.
Persuasive sales ability, including ability to effectively position Canopy USA products against competitors.
Ability to develop team members and lead by example.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to use appropriate tools to monitor KPIs and other sales metrics.
Flexible schedule and ability to work some weekends and evenings.
Travel Expectation 40% (6 trips per quarter, 20 days in market).
Candidate must live in one of the markets in the territory.
This position requires a valid state-issued license to work in the cannabis industry.

Work Environment And Physical Demands Manufacturing environment that requires extended time standing, walking, bending and reaching. Ability to carry up to 50lbs for up to a distance of 100ft may be required. Occasional extended and repetitive use of arms, hands and fingers to cut and manipulate small objects. Ability to work in a humid and pollinated environment.
