Role Overview As Head of Social Media & Video Americas, you will own the social strategy with a focus on video content and audience engagement, driving indirect revenue generation and facilitating video partnerships. You’ll lead a talented team to deliver high-impact, platform-native campaigns, working closely with editorial, marketing, partnerships, and production teams. You’ll be the driving force behind innovation, analytics, and audience growth.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership
Develop and execute a social media strategy across YouTube, Instagram, X/Twitter, Facebook, and emerging platforms.
Lead social and video initiatives to achieve business goals, including revenue, brand awareness/reach, and engagement.
Content Development & Innovation
Oversee production of high-quality, platform-native video and multimedia content.
Experiment with new formats, trends, and technologies to keep content fresh and engaging.
Lead from the front, regularly engaging and participating in video creation.
Ensure Time Out Market Union Square and Dumbo are supported with a minimum of 1 post per week for the local market.
Audience Growth & Community Management
Drive follower growth, reach, and engagement across all social channels.
Foster authentic community interaction, including moderation and audience feedback loops.
Team Management & Collaboration
Lead, inspire, and develop a social media team of producers, editors, and community managers.
Work cross-functionally with editorial, marketing, commercial, and data teams to align content and campaigns.
Data & Analytics
Establish KPIs, track performance, and produce actionable insights to inform strategy.
Report regularly on campaign and channel performance to senior leadership.
Brand & Compliance
Maintain a consistent brand voice and ensure compliance with industry regulations and platform guidelines.
Skills & Experience Required
Deep understanding of video-first social platforms, trends, and algorithms.
Confidence and experience in first-hand social.
Excellent knowledge of analytics tools (native and third-party) and how to use data to drive decisions.
Creativity in content development and storytelling, with an eye for emerging formats.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Desirable
Experience in paid social campaigns and influencer collaborations.
Proven track record leading social media strategy for a high-profile publisher, media company, or video-led brand.
Strong leadership and people-management skills with experience building and motivating teams.
Understanding of SEO, digital publishing workflows, and cross-channel audience strategies.
Familiarity with rights management, copyright, and Americas/US publishing regulations.
