Job Summary
The Health Research and Analytics (HRA) business line is in search of a motivated, full‑time Performance Nutrition Specialist to support our government client, U.S. Special Operations Command. This position is vital to enhancing the Preservation of the Forces and Family (POTFF) program, focused on optimizing mission readiness and performance for Special Operations Forces (SOF). By implementing integrated human performance initiatives, we aim to support both SOF personnel and their families. As a Performance Nutrition Specialist, you will influence meaningful research and analytics, contributing to evidence‑based decisions that enhance these critical programs. Offer nutritional guidance and counseling to enhance recovery and optimize performance for SOF personnel, especially SOF Operators and Direct Combat Support personnel. Carry out administrative and clinical tasks within your scope of practice. Support the POTFF HP program by providing nutritional planning and documentation based on peer‑reviewed literature. Advise leadership on nutrition‑related performance issues. Conduct individual and group counseling sessions focused on performance nutrition. Create and implement nutrition programs for SOF personnel in various settings, including garrison, TAD/TDY, and deployments. Develop nutrition protocols and guidelines for rehabilitation and performance. Collaborate with the HP program Manager and/or Coordinator for implementing new protocols and guidelines. Assist regional SOF assets as directed by the HP program Manager and/or Coordinator. Engage in meetings with POTFF staff and medical personnel as required. Ensure educational materials and sports nutrition supplies are readily available. Participate in supply inventories and provide insights on supply needs. Ensure that nutrition‑related equipment and facilities are safe and properly used. Keep records updated as required. Participate in ongoing training for HP staff and attend necessary educational sessions. Manage administrative duties including records maintenance, involvement in education programs, and clinical quality assurance activities. Partake in peer record reviews as necessary. Develop training materials as requested by the HP program Manager and/or Coordinator. Complete additional tasks assigned by the HP program Manager and/or Coordinator. Document care in the Military's Electronic Health Record, such as AHLTA or GENESIS, as instructed. Collect and report data as required by the HP program Manager and/or Coordinator. Utilize computers, software, and technology proficiently as requested. Key Qualifications
Master's degree in Nutrition Science or a related field. Current certification as a Registered Dietitian (RD) from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) with a specialty certification as a Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD). CSSD may be waived, with the expectation of obtaining it within six months of hiring if waived. A minimum of three years' experience as a Performance Dietitian working with individual and groups of athletes, including NCAA Collegiate, Olympic, professional sports, and/or SOF Operators. Ability to meet the physical demands of SOF training, including functioning in austere environments and assisting with strength and conditioning testing. Capacity to lift and manipulate loads up to 25 kilograms. Possession of current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification from the American Heart Association. Current and valid state certification/licensure. Ability to achieve and maintain a U.S. government security clearance. Preferred Qualifications
