Job Description
This position is required for the Oncology (ONC) Therapeutic Area Lead in DMPK&M at Takeda. The role oversees the DMPK&M strategy for the ONC portfolio, leading a team and ensuring execution of project plans, regulatory submissions, and strategic alignment with cross‑functional stakeholders.
Objectives / Purpose
Supervise and lead a team of DMPK&M project representatives and Modeling & Simulation (M&S) scientists to deliver on Takeda’s research pipeline in the ONC therapeutic area.
Oversee the DMPK&M strategy of the ONC portfolio, ensuring execution of project plans, translation, dose‑optimization strategies and review of regulatory filings.
Participate in therapeutic‑area driven discussions and partner with cross‑functional stakeholders to align on Takeda’s strategic framework; contribute to portfolio strategy and global business operations within DMPK&M.
Demonstrate leadership experience in guiding talented teams; key member of the Global DMPK&M leadership team that drives department strategy and strengthens partnerships across R&D.
Lead a team of DMPK project representatives and modeling scientists providing key scientific and strategic input to research projects.
Accountable for strategic planning and scientific oversight of the discovery and development portfolio for the ONC therapeutic area.
Support DMPK&M Head in strategic execution of the DMPK&M Vision and Mission.
Drive the development of organizational culture and capabilities by building alliances across R&D.
Scientific Responsibilities
Provide scientific leadership and strategic guidance on stage‑appropriate questions related to DMPK&M to ensure the selection and development of clinical candidates with optimal drug development characteristics.
Build and enhance an external network to monitor scientific developments, novel strategies, partnership opportunities, and the competitive & regulatory landscape in ONC therapeutic areas.
Advise, review, and approve milestone presentations and PRC narratives; oversee and participate in regulatory activities, including review and approval of submission packages in the ONC therapeutic area.
Strategic Responsibilities
Act as the DMPK&M functional representative in governance committees and discussions on prioritization, strategy, resources, timelines, and decision‑making criteria.
Facilitate alignment of DMPK&M strategy with DDU and TAU portfolio goals as the ONC Therapeutic Area Lead.
Collaborate with DDU and TAU senior leaders, communicating needs, strategy and execution plans, and consult with DMPK leadership to ensure alignment of resources and goals.
Accountable for appropriate resourcing of project support by collaborating with the Global DMPK&M leadership team.
Resources and review in‑licensing evaluations for the therapeutic area.

PhD (15+ yrs), MS (21+ yrs), or BS (23+ yrs) with at least 9 yrs of industry experience in pharmaceutical DMPK and modelling.
Good understanding of the (NS, ONC or ONC) DDU/TAU portfolio, disease indications, and typical DMPK&M considerations.
Deep drug discovery and development experience and profound DMPK&M expertise.
Experience managing pre‑clinical scientists and preparing INDs, CTDs, NDAs and MAAs.
Proactive, innovative, strong problem‑solving.
Exceptional leadership, coaching, and employee‑development skills.
Strategically work in cross‑functional and matrix environments.
In‑depth knowledge of the functional area, business strategies and company goals.
Excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills.

$212,000.00 – $333,190.00
