Role Summary This role provides design leadership and serves as the primary design voice embedded within our LLM platform team. With more than 26,000 daily users and a rapidly expanding feature set—including integration of proprietary, on‑premise LLM models—this is a high‑impact opportunity to shape the experience of one of our most actively used internal platforms. Reporting directly to the LLM Product Owner, the designer will partner closely with the LLM engineering team to drive the ongoing evolution of the platform across visual design, usability, workflows, and overall utility. This role also serves as an informed advocate for best‑in‑class AI platform experiences, drawing competitive insight from leading third‑party platforms such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google Gemini.

Responsibilities

Lead UX and UI design decisions across the ML platform, ensuring design integrity throughout the product lifecycle

Collaborate continuously with engineering teams to maintain fidelity from design through code implementation

Benchmark and analyze third‑party AI/LLM platforms to identify best‑in‑class features for adoption or inspiration

Lead and participate in user research and usability testing to inform design direction

Own, maintain, and evolve the platform’s design system and UI toolkit

Present design work, recommendations, and rationale to Ford stakeholders and leadership

Technical Skills & Experience

Required Skills

User Interface Design

User Experience Design (UX)

Required Experience

Proven experience designing UI and UX for enterprise platform products, including applications, web platforms, and dashboards

Strong portfolio demonstrating rigorous UX thinking paired with polished, production‑ready UI execution

Demonstrated success working within engineering‑led teams and advocating for design decisions and design integrity

Strong familiarity with AI/LLM concepts, terminology, and the evolving AI tool landscape

Deep, hands‑on familiarity with third‑party AI platform features and interaction paradigms (e.g., chat, projects, extensions, and related workflows across leading platforms)

Strong understanding of working within and contributing to a design system or UI toolkit

Emphasis on design fidelity and clean, effective engineering handoff

Comfort operating in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment

Preferred Experience

Experience with on‑premise or enterprise AI deployments

Familiarity with prompt‑engineering concepts and workflows

Experience designing data visualization solutions or complex dashboard interfaces

Education

Bachelor’s degree required
