Deputy Director of Emergency Services

The Deputy Director of Emergency Services position is responsible for assisting in directing the county’s emergency services operations, including EMS, Fire, and Emergency Management functions. This position will serve on a truck, as a paramedic, when necessary. This position will serve as the primary Training Officer. $65,000 - $80,000 Major Responsibilities

Performs the duties of the Director in her absence. Performs the duties of a Shift Supervisor in his or her absence. Responsible for training of personnel, and leading classes for the public and prospective employees Coordinates the operations section of the department, including EMS, Fire, and Emergency Management functions. Assists in developing and implementing department policies and procedures. Assists in ensuring departmental compliance with local ordinances, state laws, NFPA and OSHA regulations, state pharmacy regulations, federal DEA regulations, state and federal emergency management regulations, and state 911 regulations. Serves as Public Information Officer during emergency events. Manages grant funds; ensures the competition of grant reports and other required documentation; ensures the completion of required work elements; ensures compliance with county procurement procedures; submits quarterly reports. Provides training to all Emergency Operations Center staff. Maintains required credentials and certifications.
