The Senior Enterprise Data Governance Professional is a critical contributor to our enterprise data strategy. This position will define and implement enterprise data governance programs and apply seasoned knowledge to measure outcomes and compliance. The Senior Enterprise Data Governance Professional work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where data analysis, visual storytelling, and process development require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

The Senior Enterprise Data Governance Professional is a subject matter expert in compliance, reporting, and process definition. The ideal person will be responsible for compliance oversight, data usage requirements, system analysis, project documentation, and operational reporting to drive enterprise strategy and governance maturity. This position collaborates with other departments to measure data consistency, processes, and policy adherence throughout the organization. This position contributes to the oversight and continual development of data governance processes and procedures. They will maintain documentation on data governance, create compelling dashboard metrics, and conduct benchmarking to identify trends and patterns to influence departmental strategy. This role will make decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and the work is performed with minimal direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

Key Responsibilities Metadata Management & Data Governance Enablement

Serve as the supporting authority for metadata and business glossary standards, collaborating with Data Stewards, and Data Owners to ensure standardized business terms, definitions, relationships, and lineage.

Manage the metadata quality through governance processes, stewardship workflows, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Contribute to the adoption, integration, and optimization of metadata management tools to ensure consistency with enterprise information architecture standards.

Enterprise Collaboration & Influence

Partner with solution architects, data engineering, enterprise architecture, AI, analytics, and business stakeholders to support business information architecture alignment to strategic data products, integration patterns, and analytics platforms.

Evangelize the definition and adoption of semantic layers, shared business definitions, and reusable information patterns across cross-functional teams.

Translate complex business strategies and concepts into structured dashboards and reports for tracking.

Standards, Policies, and Framework Stewardship

Document and govern enterprise standards for ontology modeling, naming conventions, metadata taxonomy, and semantic alignment.

Support the evolution of enterprise data governance frameworks, stewardship models, and domain governance structures in partnership with senior stakeholders.

Validate adherence to industry best practices in information architecture, FAIR data principles, semantic data governance, and proactively monitor compliance.

Information Quality, Risk, and Compliance Leadership

Identify and assess inconsistencies in data definitions, business rules, and semantic structures, driving enterprise-wide remediation and best practices.

Support definition of regulatory, risk, and audit requirements by ensuring data meaning, provenance, and lineage are traceable, documented, and defensible.

Document data meaning, business context, and strategic data initiatives at the enterprise level.

Use Your Skills to Make an Impact Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree

5+ years of progressive experience in business intelligence, data governance, or related disciplines, with significant experience in deployment and enforcement.

Demonstrated proficiency in Power BI, SQL, Python, and business requirements gathering

Proven experience in compliance oversight, data strategy, and score card evaluation

Understanding of data governance principles, data lifecycle management, data quality, and stewardship.

Advanced ability to translate complex business concepts into clear, structured executive summaries and dashboards.

Demonstrated experience with data governance.

Demonstrated ability to participate in and support large scale, highly visible programs with responsibility for cross-functional project teams

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
