Director of SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting Finance – Multiple Locations (San Francisco, New York, Toronto). Full time, Hybrid/Remote.

In This Role, You Will

Prepare, review, and coordinate S‑1 registration statements for IPO readiness, working closely with legal counsel, underwriting teams and auditors.

Lead all SEC reporting activities including preparation and filing of 10‑K, 10‑Q, and other required SEC documents.

Serve as the primary technical accounting expert for complex transactions including stock‑based compensation (ASC 718), lease accounting (ASC 842), and other specialized accounting areas.

Partner cross‑functionally on special projects including M&A accounting, system implementations, and process improvements.

Develop and maintain comprehensive accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls at an enterprise level.

Partner with external auditors and coordinate audit processes, ensuring alignment with company strategy.

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to assess accounting treatment for new initiatives.

Set department strategy and vision for SEC reporting and technical accounting functions.

Drive continuous improvement of our accounting infrastructure and reporting capabilities.

You May Be a Good Fit If You

Have a background in public accounting (Big 4 preferred) and an active CPA license or equivalent.

Have 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public company experience at a senior level.

Possess deep expertise in US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations.

Have extensive hands‑on experience with SEC reporting tools such as Workiva, DFIN ActiveDisclosure, or similar.

Have proven experience in technical accounting research and complex transaction analysis.

Have experience building accounting processes in a fast‑paced technology environment, preferably at an AI company.

Have strong executive presence and leadership skills.

Take a proactive, solutions‑oriented approach to problem‑solving.

Have IPO readiness experience.
