Regional Commercial Sales Account Manager- Indianapolis

Job Summary The Regional Account Manager (RAM) is responsible for outside commercial sales, lead generation, client procurement, and commercial job management. This primary role is outside sales of Floor & Decor’s Commercial products to medium and large institutional buyers. In addition to working on leads sourced at the store level you will act as a liaison with the Inside Commercial Sales team and the end‑user customer. The RAM will also work with the Commercial Support Center to source, bid, and administer large commercial jobs.

Responsibilities Daily sales calls on existing customers; present products to builders, developers, designers, contractors, and all decision makers in the sales and installation process; continually prospect for new accounts while developing keen awareness of the local market; manage projects from inception to completion including opportunity identification, product selection, specification, order placement, order tracking, delivery coordination, installation oversight, punch walk, and claim coordination; follow up on leads from Dodge, store leads, networking groups, etc.; pursue commercial leads passed from store teams; submit proposals and responses to RFQs and RFPs; follow up with Inside Commercial Sales team; coordinate with purchasing and inventory teams; stay current on training and product lines; monitor contract calendars and report status; participate in trade associations, trade shows, and promotional efforts.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred

3+ years previous commercial industry sales experience, preferably within the flooring or building materials industry

Successful track record in an outside sales environment

Familiarity with the local market

Proficient with CRM tools such as Salesforce.com

Experience in RFPs, commercial job bids, and construction sales

Retail experience a plus

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills

Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite

Excellent interpersonal, customer service, influencing, and negotiation skills

Ability to multi‑task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast‑paced environment

Independent, unstructured work capability with strong time‑management and organizational skills

Enjoy prospecting for new accounts

Your Day Consists Of

Travel daily throughout the assigned area to call on existing customers and prospect new customers

Manage projects from inception to completion, including opportunity identification, product selection, specification, order placement, tracking, delivery coordination, installation oversight, punch walk, and claim coordination

Continuously prospect for viable new accounts while keeping a pulse on the local market

Follow up on leads from Dodge, store leads, networking groups, etc.

Work with PRO teams in each location to pursue commercial leads passed by the store team

Submit proposals and responses to RFQs and RFPs after obtaining pricing and specification approval

Coordinate with the Inside Commercial Sales team to complete sales and satisfy customer requirements

Confirm product availability with purchasing and inventory teams via the Commercial Support Center

Stay current on training, new products, and product lines

Monitor prospects’ contract calendars and prepare status reports as needed

Participate in trade associations, trade shows, and promotional efforts

Perform additional functions and duties of a similar nature to achieve business objectives

Working Conditions (travel and environment)

Daily car travel with limited air travel based on customers or corporate events

Noise level in the work environment is typically quiet to moderate
