Christ Church Greensboro (CCG) seeks a senior pastor to serve as its primary preacher, shepherd, and spiritual leader.

Position Summary CCG’s senior pastor will balance expository preaching, relational shepherding, and thoughtful leadership to equip the saints, foster unity, and model a grace‑shaped life. In collaboration with the session and church staff, the pastor safeguards theological health, cultivates spiritual formation, and leads the congregation in faithful witness and mission in Greensboro. Guided by Reformed theology, the senior pastor upholds CCG’s five core values:

Works with staff and elders to plan worship services consistent with PCA convictions and CCG’s liturgical culture.

Cares for the flock with approachability, presence, and warmth.

Engages meaningfully with congregants across life stages, including children, young parents, working adults, and retirees.

Welcomes a multi‑cultural population that includes refugees, homeless people, recently incarcerated individuals, and others on the fringe of our community.

Provides pastoral counseling from a Biblical basis for those in spiritual or emotional crisis, referring when appropriate to licensed professionals.

Prioritizes pastoral visitation, counseling, discipleship, and prayer.

Models the Gospel by being quick to repent and quick to forgive.

Collaborative Leader

Shares authority and honors accountability with the Session.

Maintains a culture that values the insights and leadership gifts of the women’s ministry and women’s shepherding teams.

Empowers staff and ministry leaders to exercise their spiritual gifts and serve effectively.

Fosters a collaborative and supportive environment among staff and ministry leaders.

Honors and maintains healthy relationships with staff, elders, deacons, and volunteers.

Pursues a unifying church vision in alignment with Scripture and expressed through our five core values.

Disciple‑Maker

Champions spiritual formation as the engine of mission and growth.

Strengthens and supports healthy small groups and discipleship opportunities.

Fosters intergenerational ministry and community.

Measures fruitfulness primarily in spiritual maturity rather than numerical growth.

Position Qualifications Required Qualifications

Currently serve as a Senior or Associate Pastor in a PCA church or a church aligned with PCA theology.

Demonstrate 3+ years of leading a multi‑cultural ministry team across multiple areas or responsibilities.

Possess a Seminary degree.

Have regular preaching experience of 3+ years.

Exhibit humility, stability, and emotional resilience.

Maintain healthy rhythms of work, rest, and spiritual disciplines.

Model a strong marriage and family life.

Demonstrate integrity, transparency, and faithfulness in all areas of life.

Be slow to anger, quick to listen, and grounded in prayer.

Balance visionary leadership with pastoral care.

Have strong communication skills, both in preaching and interpersonal relationships.

Demonstrate commitment to honoring Christ in family life, ministry, and community presence.

Desired Qualifications

Have experience leading and working with a college ministry.

Demonstrate community leadership, networking, and involvement in parallel with ministry responsibilities.

Teach with a creative approach that resonates across generations.

Possess a proven track record of building unity and trust within a church body.
