As a Health and Benefits Actuarial Senior Director, you will serve as the financial lead for large, complex client assignments, leveraging your expertise to make strategic recommendations on funding, plan design, and innovative financial solutions. You will apply financial management and data analytics skills to solve complex client problems and develop new H&B intellectual capital.
Role
Communicates and delivers complex concepts and financial/actuarial/analytic results to drive client action and improve plan performance.
Leads Medium to Large clients’ financial/actuarial engagements.
Develops and delivers the financial/actuarial strategy for a portfolio of Medium and/or Large clients.
Drives revenue growth through client sales of additional actuarial, financial, and/or risk solutions.
Provides consulting quality reviews and client delivery for all types of financial/actuarial deliverables.
Guides team (regional and global) on deliverables, reviewing models and presentations for client delivery.
Builds relationships internally and collaborates effectively on cross‑functional teams.
Qualifications
10+ years’ experience and demonstrated success in delivering complex health and welfare financial/actuarial strategies in a consulting or brokerage environment.
Proven ability to generate revenue and manage and grow client relationships.
Deep understanding and expert knowledge of employee benefit plan design, underwriting and funding concepts.
Proven ability to lead data analytic projects.
Interest and aptitude in keeping abreast of latest developments in health and welfare plan strategy and in developing new intellectual capital.
Ability to use judgment and past experience to predict effective methods.
Multiple years of experience across one or more client segments.
An executive presence with polished written and oral communication skills.
Superior ability to influence and collaborate with senior management across all levels of an organization.
Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint.
State Life and Health license required within 90 days of joining.
Actuarial designation and current continuing education (optional).
