Commercial Insurance Account Executive
RealREPP, Hartford, CT, United States
Why This Role
Join a rapidly growing, nationally recognized insurance organization that provides niche commercial‑lines solutions across the U.S.
You’ll own a defined book of business, act as the single point of contact for your clients, and match them with the best‑fit coverages from a panel of top‑rated carriers. You’ll be supported by a collaborative underwriting and service team—but you’ll drive the strategy, negotiations, and long‑term relationships.
What You’ll Do
Manage and Grow Accounts – Serve as the primary advisor for an assigned territory, handling renewals, new placements, coverage reviews, and day‑to‑day questions.
Design Coverage Solutions – Analyze exposures, eligibility, loss history, inspection reports, and market conditions to position each client with the right carrier and program.
Negotiate & Place Business – Use established underwriting authority and carrier guidelines to structure pricing, terms, and endorsements that meet client goals while adhering to company standards.
Cross‑Sell & Upsell – Identify gaps and additional risk‑transfer needs; present value‑added products to deepen client relationships and increase revenue per account.
Market Intelligence – Monitor carrier performance, appetite shifts, and pricing trends; recommend new markets and maintain strong relationships with external underwriters.
Serve as Subject‑Matter Expert – Act as the internal go‑to for your assigned lines of business, partnering with underwriting, claims, and billing teams to resolve issues quickly.
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
3+ years in commercial P&C account management, underwriting, or producer support.
Active resident producer license (or ability to secure); willingness to obtain non‑resident licenses nationwide.
Proven track record juggling multiple priorities with flawless attention to detail.
Clear, confident communicator—written and verbal—with a consultative client approach.
Experience with an agency management system (Applied, Vertafore, etc.) strongly preferred.
Ability to travel domestically up to 3 times per year for client or carrier visits.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.
Work Environment & Physical Expectations
Modern, climate‑controlled office environment with flexible hybrid scheduling.
Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs (e.g., files, marketing materials).
Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use.
We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.*
