
Director of Vendor Management

Join Grant Thornton as the Director of Vendor Management, where you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our service delivery through strong supplier relationships. You will be responsible for ensuring that services provided by critical suppliers consistently meet or exceed operational requirements. As part of our Finance and Accounting team, you will manage operational processes and oversee service performance management across our key suppliers and the global Vendor Management team.
In this role, you will lead a team dedicated to supporting critical suppliers and facilitate the continuous improvement of service level agreements (SLAs) and reporting initiatives. You will regularly engage with both internal operations and external suppliers, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration for optimal service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the accountable process owner for operational processes and governance.
Implement and manage performance governance programs for key suppliers.
Identify and address gaps in policies and processes to improve service quality.
Monitor supplier performance against established SLAs and governance policies.
Facilitate service performance reviews with partners and key suppliers.
Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance service delivery and relationships with critical suppliers.
Work with security teams to ensure adherence to security policies with suppliers.
Conduct trend analysis and identify root-cause issues across services and suppliers.
Lead the annual Service Level review process and guide adjustments to service metrics.
Oversee performance assessments and service level validations.
Support commercial teams in service changes and contract modifications.
Review and analyze supplier invoices for accuracy and compliance.
Serve as the primary contact for service performance management with all suppliers.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business with a focus on communication, contracts, or technology.
8-10 years of experience in a technology‑based managed service provider (MSP) environment.
5+ years of experience in service performance or delivery roles.
5+ years in a technology governance role.
Knowledge of ITIL best practices in managed service governance.
ITIL accreditation is highly preferred.
Experience in an outsourcing/managed services environment is essential.
Capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Strong collaboration skills with diverse teams at all levels.
Previous experience in supervising offshore delivery teams is a plus.
The base salary for this position ranges from $136,000 to $204,000 per year for offices in Chicago, IL, Downers Grove, IL, Cleveland, OH, Minneapolis, MN, and Baltimore, MD. For Washington, DC, Boston, MA, Edison, NJ, New York, NY, and Melville, NY, the salary range is between $146,880 and $220,320 per year.
