Marketing & PR Account Executive (Agency)
JDI (Jones-Dilworth, Inc.), Austin, TX, United States
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for a well‑rounded and experienced marketer with an interest in science. Our ideal candidate has 3-5 years of experience in marketing as well as these qualities:
Strong and poised presence, comfortable being in front of people and sharing ideas; effective at consulting and communicating.
Ability to craft emails, essays, or posts in a way that moves people to think differently.
Expertise in helping others grasp concepts—able to translate complex ideas into plain language.
Skilled at forming a clear, persuasive point of view and willing to adjust when presented with convincing evidence.
Track record of success across multiple marketing disciplines, with experience in naming & branding, messaging & positioning, and media relations.
Excellent at leading client teams and managing multiple accounts simultaneously—balancing execution with delegation and meeting budget, timeline, and client goals.
Intense curiosity for science and technology—eager to learn about anything from enterprise software to protein folding and excited by new breakthroughs.
Enjoys complex challenges—integrates disparate information, identifies patterns, and crafts creative solutions.
WHAT YOU'LL DO Your days will be a blend of strategy and tactical execution. You'll develop and drive marketing strategy, create press lists, write press releases, pitch to media, and secure interviews. You’ll also craft persuasive written content—client counseling, thought leadership, and ad copy—and act as a trusted counselor to clients in all forums.
While many tasks are autonomous, most work occurs in collaboration with fellow marketers, executives, and clients. You will manage multiple client accounts, serve as the primary point of contact, lead the program, and collaborate with an account team or support another account lead as needed. In the fast‑paced agency environment, meeting quick‑turn deadlines and juggling competing priorities is essential.

Eagerness to dive deep into complex technical topics.
