
Business Development Specialist

Position Overview:
The Business Development Representative (BDR) is responsible for driving revenue growth by developing new commercial accounts and selling HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical services and solutions. This role focuses on identifying, engaging, and qualifying new prospects through professional, ethical, and value-based sales practices while maintaining a strong customer-focused approach. The BDR is expected to consistently meet or exceed baseline sales targets by executing the Company’s established sales process.
Essential Job Functions:
Identify, prospect, and develop new commercial customers through outbound outreach, referrals, and assigned leads.
Contact prospective customers by phone, email, and in person to generate interest and schedule sales appointments.
Open new accounts by presenting Company services and solutions across HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical trades.
Maintain a working knowledge of Company products, services, and operational capabilities to effectively position solutions.
Utilize Company sales tools and systems to track prospect activity, manage pipelines, and maintain accurate records.
Generate and maintain accurate sales activity, pipeline, and forecasting reports as required.
Identify and communicate competitive activity, market trends, and customer feedback to management.
Participate in trade shows, industry events, and networking opportunities as assigned to support brand awareness and lead generation.
Conduct all sales activities in a professional, ethical, and profitable manner aligned with Company standards.
Perform additional job-related duties as assigned, consistent with business needs.
Required Skills and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, sales, or a related field preferred.
Prior experience in business development, sales, account management, or customer-facing roles required.
Experience in commercial service environments (HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, or related trades) preferred.
Ability to understand customer needs and present service-based solutions in a professional and ethical manner.
Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
Comfort discussing multi-trade service offerings and coordinating solutions across HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical.
Proficiency with CRM systems, sales tools, and standard office software.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple prospects, follow-ups, and priorities.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal service, dispatch, and operations teams.
General awareness of safety practices when visiting customer locations and job sites.
Working Conditions
Primarily work in an office setting, with frequent travel to field sites.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Office environment with occasional interruptions.
Regular travel to customer locations and job sites is required.
Work may involve visiting active job sites and mechanical spaces, including but not limited to rooftops, crawl spaces, ladders, confined areas, and uneven terrain.
Work may be performed in
extreme weather conditions , including heat, cold, rain, snow, and other environmental elements.
Must be able to safely navigate varying job site conditions while complying with all Company safety policies and procedures.
Evening and/or early morning, and/or weekend and holidays hours periodically.
Ability to work remote with management approval.
